Another beautiful day forecast this Saturday, just in time to enjoy the spring flowers, and the first strawberries and asparagus from RJ Farms! Not a lot yet and the early bird gets the worm, so don’t be late:) Spring plant starts will be plentiful (still too early though for tomatoes and peppers) and we welcome back Pitkin Winterrowd Farms who’ll have herb plants (grow some for flavor and nutrition in your meals this spring ), including Chives, French Tarragon, Cilantro and Thyme. To keep your Bees Buzzing with flowers they like Farmer Tom will bring starts of Borage, Bergamont, Sunflowers and Poppys to keep them happy.
We also welcome back Cafe De Crepe! If you’ve been craving their crepes since early last summer, now is your chance to enjoy one for breakfast or lunch. Sara will have her tamales too, but Scratch Meats , while still selling their artisan sausages will take a break from hot food till May 14th. Craving a locally-raised roast chicken? Birkeland Farms will have whole chickens for $4 lb and Lynn’s wonderful bone broth too. 42 vendors this week…something for everyone!
One more “winter” Market on April 30th…then the very next week (May 7th) we open the main summer market, with cooking demos every day, kids POP Club, a $10 SNAP Match (still) plus live music and loads of events. But best of all…great farmers and vendors!
